Lycoris was the first story I ever felt that fire to publish, and man, what a journey it’s been! I started with just a couple of chapters when, boom—I saw this ad for The 60 Day Novel Writing Challenge. Of course, I had to join because, hey, why not see if I could actually finish this thing, right? Spoiler: I did finish it by November 2020, which was a big win in the middle of that chaotic year we don’t mention.
Lycoris turned out to be my therapy, especially after my wild rollercoaster of birth experiences—my oldest gave me a rough time, while my middle son’s birth was a dream. So with no one to really talk to, I poured all that into Nin, my main character. She's part demigod, part witch, a midwife, and 100% badass! Oh, and her dad? Only the god of death himself, Thanatos, paired with a high priestess of Amun-Ra. No big deal. 😏
I didn't have any grand plan when I started—just a deep love for mythology and a need to create something romantic and dark. And that's exactly what Nin became.
